Patient & Donor Stories

Meet Tom Brown, M.D.
Physician Story
The changes Dr. Thomas Brown has seen. After practicing medicine for three decades, revolutionary new procedures and modern equipment have turned mere ideas into real possibilities.
Think Big
“This is an exciting time to be a surgeon because the next, new life-altering advancement could occur at any moment. I can’t help but think about the people who will be in our position 30 years from now and wonder what ideas they will have that will change healthcare forever,” he says.
The new hospital, says Dr. Brown, provides the right atmosphere in which to grasp those advancements.
Take equipment, for example. Neurosurgery relies on many pieces of equipment, and the current operating rooms in EMH are tight.
“While that doesn’t affect our level of patient care now, it will in the future. The new Hospital will provide flexibility for years to come,” he explains.
To personally contribute to a more advanced environment, Dr. Brown donated to the capital campaign. He also talks up the new Hospital to prospective new surgeons.
“Just discussing plans for the new Hospital is making that process much easier. I imagine that will be true throughout the entire organization. Recruiting bright, young physicians to work in a state-of-the-art facility will have an enormous impact on our patients,” he says.
