Patient & Donor Stories

Meet Bob Robertson

Donor

Nearly 40 years ago, someone asked Bob Robertson to serve on the Hospital’s Board of Trustees and other leadership committees. Ask him today how many groups he’s worked with, and he can’t even guess.

Retirement Redefined

Today, Bob’s entitled to retire from his volunteer work. After all, he sold his business, White Hen Pantry, in 2000 and could theoretically lounge around and golf and travel and spend time with his family, including two great-grandchildren.

“But I started thinking about the future of the Hospital and it made sense to stick with it. When we see it up and running, we’ll all be proud of it,” he says.

To jump start the capital campaign, Bob donated a substantial gift. He also, along with fellow committee members, developed the campaign’s tagline, Exceptional Past, Extraordinary Future.

Bob hopes others find their way to put their stamp on the future.

“If there’s ever a thought that occurs to you about how you might be of service to the community in a way that reflects what the community has given you, I can’t think of a better way than supporting the Hospital,” he ways. “That’s based on its track record, history of service and most importantly, its vision of the future.”
